We are pleased to announce the Laryngectomy and Altered Airway course with a focus on technique building and collaboration, the MDT approach. Some preliminary details are listed below with more information to come. 

Learning Objectives

  • Flap surgery technique – the ENT perspective
  • Surgical refinements for optimized voice and swallowing outcomes
  • Cadaveric session:
    • Tracheostomy creation
    • Total Laryngectomy
  • Animal specimen hands on: airway creation
  • Primary versus secondary puncture - a debate on the evidence or have we decided?
  • VP troubleshooting - algorithm for speech pathology and medical intervention in an emergency
  • Pre surgery considerations for enhanced post operative recovery
