The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Annual Scientific Congress (ASC) 2026 marks the 94th RACS ASC and promises to be an inspiring and future-focused event, uniting surgeons, scientists, innovators, and thought leaders from across the surgical and broader healthcare ecosystem. Hosted at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Thursday 30 April to Sunday 3 May 2026, the RACS ASC will centre on the theme: The Art and Science of Collaboration.

In surgery, progress is never made in isolation. This year, we shine a spotlight on the many ways in which surgeons collaborate—with each other, with scientists and researchers, with industry, biomedical engineers and policy makers, with emerging technologies, and of course with our patients. From the precision of robotics to the nuance of communication, the RACS ASC 2026 will explore how meaningful collaboration drives innovation and improves outcomes.

This is more than a scientific meeting—it is the premium opportunity for the surgical community to come together as a whole. It is a space for shared reflection, open exchange of ideas, peer learning, and the strengthening of professional bonds. In an era where clinical work is often siloed and fast-paced, the RACS ASC 2026 will offer a time to reconnect with colleagues, mentors, and friends, and to rediscover the power of camaraderie, collegiality, and the fellowship that underpins our profession. The Congress will feature many opportunities to build professional portfolios and acquire CPD points across all domains, with integrated courses, workshops, and cultural content thoughtfully embedded throughout the program to support lifelong learning and holistic professional growth.

We are also thrilled to welcome you to beautiful Perth and Western Australia—a region known for its pristine beaches, unique wildlife, and striking natural contrasts, from the red sands of the outback to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. While here, we encourage you add extra days to your trip, giving you time to explore regional gems such as, the world-renowned Margaret River wine region, or meet a quokka on Rottnest Island, just a short ferry ride from the city.

The Congress will feature dynamic plenary sessions designed to challenge assumptions and spark conversation. Incorporating TED-style dynamics, these talks will feature bold ideas, clear evidence, and engaging delivery—stripped of agenda, politics, or spin. We are also excited to continue the tradition of the Convocation Ceremony on Thursday evening, welcoming our new Fellows and recognising the outstanding achievements of our profession. This will be followed by a celebratory Welcome Reception for Fellows, their families, and guests. The Congress Dinner will take place on Saturday evening—a chance to enjoy the warmth of connection and the best of Western Australia’s food and hospitality.

As program details are confirmed, updates will be shared via the RACS ASC website, RACS newsletters and social media. With your participation and enthusiasm, the RACS ASC 2026 will be more than a meeting—it will be a showcase of what is possible when we break down silos and connect across boundaries. We look forward to welcoming you to Perth for the RACS ASC 2026, a chance to connect, and to shape the future of surgery together.
