About the Forum

The 4th South Pacific ORL Forum (South Pac) is a combined three-day educational meeting incorporating 70th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) of the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (NZSOHNS), 32nd ASM of the Australian New Zealand Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ANZSPO) and the 10th ASM of the Australian and New Zealand Rhinologic Society (ANZRS) and accordingly will be one of the largest ENT educational meeting in recent years.

The three days of educational program will include keynote presentations on the latest in innovative techniques as well as free papers in the areas of rhinology, laryngology, otology, head and neck, facial plastics and sleep - in adults and paediatrics. These keynote presentations will be supported by concurrent sessions covering all the above sub disciplines, including panel discussions, case studies and networking to facilitate the highest level of educational experience. We have already secured a number of leading international speakers.

There will be case based panel discussions and debates in all aspects of Otolaryngology. The preliminary program for South Pac also includes up to three interactive breakfast sessions on two days that will feature speakers and panellists who are at the cutting edge of the most up to date surgical procedures and research.

One of the core objectives of South Pac is to provide an environment in which surgeons from Australia, New Zealand, USA and the Pacific region can meet, interact and network in the interests of the highest level of education, which can benefit their patients and the communities in which they practice.

Past Forums have been appropriately acknowledged as high quality educational programs, both in the evaluation by participates, and also with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, which has provided CME points under the category of maintenance of knowledge and skills.

I look forward to seeing you in Hawaii!

Aloha Kakou

Welcome to the 70th Annual General and Scientific Meeting of the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, held for the first time in conjunction with the Australasian Rhinological Society and Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Otolaryngology, in the wonderful islands of Hawaii.

This unique tripartite Forum demonstrates not only the close cooperation between different groups within our specialty, but also the strong relationship we have with our colleagues over the Tasman. It is an opportunity to bring together international experts in the fields of rhinology and paediatric otolaryngology, as well as the other areas in our specialty, for a Forum of high academic calibre.

Make the most of this delightful Pacific setting to meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Yours sincerely
Robert Allison

President, Australia and New Zealand Rhinologic Society

Dear Colleagues

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join us for what promises to be one of the major ENT events in 2017, the South Pacific ENT Forum. The ANZRS has always been supportive of the Forum and has now co-hosted three of the Forums. The strong academic content, inter-society camaraderie and great interaction with the ENT medical device and pharmaceutical industry always make these Forums unique and memorable.

We have already received a lot of interest from the USA, Japan and other Pacific Rim countries and this promises to be the biggest and best South Pacific Forum to date.

I look forward to seeing you in Honolulu in 2017.

Yours sincerely
Simon Carney
